Re-interpreting Assessment: Society, Measurement and Meaning

The 34th International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) Annual Conference was held in Cambridge, England, from 7 – 12 September 2008. It was hosted by Europe's largest assessment agency, Cambridge Assessment, as part of the celebrations for its 150th anniversary. Cambridge Assessment is a department of the University of Cambridge. It is a not-for-profit organisation incorporating three major exam boards: University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE); University of Cambridge English for Speakers of Other Languages (Cambridge ESOL); and OCR.

The IAEA Annual Conference is recognised as a major event in assessment, bringing together leading assessment and education experts and providers of examinations from around the world. It provides a forum for participants to share professional expertise and strengthen mutual understanding and relationships. The theme of IAEA 2008 was Re-interpreting Assessment: Society, Measurement and Meaning.
